Here be dragons

I’ve decided that it’s time to talk a bit about some phrases. I’ll start with: “Here be dragons“, that’s defined in Wikipedia as:

“Here be dragons” is a phrase used to denote dangerous or unexplored territories, in imitation of the infrequent medieval practice of putting sea serpents and other mythological creatures in blank areas of maps.

In another context, software programmers sometimes use it to indicate especially difficult or obscure sections of code in a program so that others do not tamper with them.[1]

This means that you’re often hear this phrase when being talked about strange territories and unexplored areas. I’d like to think that it’s more of an act of courage to actually go and explore it, but it’s also a fair warning
